Lightwork Therapy and Recovery is officially accepting applicants for dedicated and compassionate clinical interns to join our dynamic team. This internship offers hands-on experience in a supportive, trauma-informed mental health setting, working with clients in both group and individual therapy formats. Interns will have the opportunity to gain supervised clinical hours while learning evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Interns will get the opportunity to learn clinical skills including conducting assessments, co-facilitating therapy groups, maintaining clinical documentation, engaging in case management, and providing 1:1 therapeutic interventions with clients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Interns will receive weekly supervision as well as professional development opportunities to support their growth as mental health professionals.

Interns should be enrolled in a master’s-level counseling, social work, or related mental health program and demonstrate a commitment to compassionate, client-centered care.

The internship application process for the 2025/2026 academic year opens January 6th, 2025, and closes January 31st, 2025. We will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews in the month of February, with final selections made by the end of the month. We only have 4 internship openings (2 in Woburn, 2 in Braintree).

Nights/Weekend On-Call Admissions Coordinator

Lightwork Therapy and Recovery is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Nights/Weekend On-Call Admissions Coordinator to join our admissions team in Braintree, MA. This vital role ensures seamless client access to care during evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities include answering admissions calls, conducting thorough pre-assessments, scheduling clients for intakes, and determining appropriate services based on client needs. The Admissions Coordinator must have a strong understanding of health insurance and be able to assess when to refer clients to alternative levels of care if their needs fall outside the scope of the services provided.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to work independently, and experience in mental health or substance use admissions processes. Knowledge of various levels of care and insurance verification is required, as is the ability to assess client needs and provide compassionate, client-centered support during the admissions process.

This position reports to the Admissions Director and offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in helping individuals take the first step toward recovery. Hours are Monday-Friday 5:00pm-10:00pm, Saturday & Sunday, 9:00am-8:00pm. Fully remote.

Compensation: $20-25 per hour. Some flexibility in scheduling.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Location: Lightwork Therapy and Recovery – Hybrid/Remote, Braintree and Woburn Locations

Lightwork Therapy and Recovery is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team, with the flexibility of part-time or full-time hours and the option to work remotely, in-person, or in a hybrid capacity. This role involves providing essential psychiatric care to clients participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) tracks for mental health and substance use disorders. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments, prescribing and managing medications, and collaborating with therapists and other clinical staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Additionally, the practitioner will monitor client progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and provide psychoeducation to clients and families about medications, diagnoses, and treatment options.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s or doctorate in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health and hold an active and unrestricted PMHNP license in Massachusetts, along with a DEA license for prescribing. Experience working with individuals managing mental health and substance use disorders, particularly in an IOP or similar setting, is highly preferred. Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and psychopharmacology are essential, as is a client-centered approach to care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms is beneficial for those choosing remote or hybrid work options.
